Old World Stone Partners with Cambria and is Featured the Lake Forest Pullman Home Showcase

Updated: Jan 27, 2021

Since 1985, the Lake Forest Auxiliary Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago has hosted a nationally recognized designer Showhouse and Gardens. The showhouse benefits the Angel Harvey Family Health Center of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, which provides healthcare to Chicago’s medically underserved.

Cambria partnered with designers and fabricators to transform the Lake Forest Pullman property. Old World Stone's Mike Gliszczynski was interviewed as part of the article.

Simultaneously classic and modern, the innovative Cambria kitchen countertop quietly stands out. Fabricator Mike Gliszczynski from Old World Stone in Huntley, IL, describes how his crew achieved consistent reveals:

“Once we double-checked, the reveals were even and consistent throughout.”

“We started with a full 3cm Cambria Colton Quartz. A flat eased-edge profile was applied to the main horizontal countertop and a dado was then milled or routed into the bottom of the edge profile. The vertical pieces had a flat-edge profile applied to both the upper and lower edges. We dry-fitted the vertical pieces into the dado (or that routed area) on the bottom of the main upper countertop piece. Once we double-checked, the reveals were even and consistent throughout the perimeter of the island.”
